Lori Ryerson

Lori Ryerson is an award-winning Toronto-based contemporary art photographer. Her work can be found in corporate collections, as well as numerous private collections throughout North America.

While her first loves are travel and landscape, Lori refers to herself an opportunistic photographer, preferring not to be restricted by any specific genre. Her works are usually the result of chance meanders, rather than pre-planned compositions. She seeks out what she refers to as “little mysteries in the mundane”, capturing the shifting stories that occur in manmade and nature’s landscapes.

In an increasingly noisy universe, Lori looks for ways to photograph silence. She has also been exploring the world of abstraction. Photographers are adept at isolating smaller moments in a larger landscape, and her journey into abstraction finds her taking a deep dive into the ephemeral moments from the natural world that surrounds us daily.
